John Gordon MA, FCA (Age 66)(Non-Executive Chairman)
A chartered accountant who qualified in 1965 before commencing
a career in corporate finance in the City which culminated in his
being Head of Corporate Finance at Capel-Cure Myers and then
at Beeson Gregory Limited before his retirement in March 1996.
He is currently a non-executive director of Alizyme plc, Lavendon
Group plc and Imprint plc.
Melvyn Fookes ACA (Age 49)
(Group Finance Director)
A chartered accountant who qualified with Grant Thornton
in 1981. He is responsible for the management, development
and control of all aspects of the Group’s finance and data
processing functions.
Graham Dughan BSc (Age 59)
(Executive Director)
A molecular sciences graduate who has over forty years
experience in the refractories and technical ceramics
industries. He is a council member and a former president
of the Refractories Association of Great Britain. He heads
the Group’s Magnesia division.
Ian Fisher BA, MBA (Age 55)
(Senior Independent Non-Executive Director)
A partner and founder of Rubicon Partners, a specialised
investment firm focused on acquiring complex industrial
business. Deputy Chairman of Rubicon Partners Industries an
acquisition vehicle of Rubicon Partners and Royal Bank of
Scotland. Previously, he was a partner with both Apax Partners
Buy In Fund and strategy consultants Bain and Company.
Jamie Brundell MSc, MBA, FIMMM, FCIM (Age 58)
(Chief Executive)
A sciences and business graduate who has significant experience
in the development of international operations. He has held senior
positions with a number of manufacturing Groups and was
formerly Group Chief Executive of Monocon Holdings Limited,
a leading group in refractory/engineering technology products.
Colin Halpern (Age 69)
(Independent Non Executive Director)
He has extensive international business experience across a
broad range of sectors, in the US, UK and Far East markets. His
interests have seen him in the capacity of principal, using his own
capital to start and fund business activities. He is currently
Chairman of Domino’s Pizza UK & IRL Plc.
