Outline Planning Permission received for Stafford Property

On the 4th January 2007 the Board of UCM Group plc
(“UCM Group” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that a planning
meeting of Stafford Borough Council has resolved to grant outline planning
permission for residential development on the Company’s 20 acre
Stafford site.The grant of planning permission is subject to the completion
of a legal agreement made under Section 106 of the planning act and to
conditions attached to the permission. It is expected that the legal
agreement will be completed in the next 6 months at which point further
updates will be notified.

A significant part of the manufacturing facilities of UCM’s subsidiary,
Unitec Ceramics Limited, is located on the Stafford site.Whilst there are
no current plans to develop the site, the Board believed it appropriate to
pursue the grant of outline permission at
Stafford as part of evaluating the
Group’s underlying assets.

Major Quality Achievement for Unitec Ceramics

global automotive quality system ISO/TS 16949. Chief Executive, Jamie Brundell
